After the exhaustive journey and eventful arrival it was 12 days before I had fully recovered to continue onward with my journey, but that is not to say my sleep was unbroken as I was haunted by the most bizarre dreams.
The first of these was a glimpse of a possible alternative future. I was even visited by a slim, black skinned chaos beast named Zyrx and we had a long conversation before he left, another explorer on this isle or a figment of my imagination. I fought a strange creatures with names like Forrg, Bendeguz and Blindspider, whilst constantly being visited by visions of the mysterious wooden sign I had seen near the farm and I couldn't shake the image of the cleft from my thoughts.
Finally I was awoken from my slumber by a long haired shape changer named Nathaniel and I realised everything before had been nothing more than the new environment I found myself in playing tricks on my mind. Once Nathaniel had left I spent a little time tidying up my camp and settled back to relax again, this time to be interrupted once more by a fellow elf called Uriel Septim. She looked familiar, maybe I had seen her on the voyage across but before I had chance to ask she was gone. It seems there are plenty of like minded fortune seekers on this Lagas, far more than I'd imagined.
My final night of camp was once again punctuated by dreams but these were far more vivid and real than those previous. I find myself floating over a vast white city, one I do not recognise but feel I have seen before. As I look down upon the streets and notice they are deserted. Why would a city of such grandeur and beauty have no inhabitants? I then see a strange purple sphere floating in the distance and feel myself drawn toward it and as I get closer I start to panic but there is nothing I can do to stop my flight. It is almost upon me, I think I can see some kind of humanoid figure inside it, and then I wake with a start, my heart pounding and beads of sweat running from my forehead, I am back in my camp and it is morning.
Whilst trying to comprehend my dreams I begin to gather my equipment, ready for the journey ahead but I hear voices on the breeze. They tell of some names I recognise from the journey on the prism, Mael, Hammerhands, Nathaniel, my visitor from the previous day and Zyrx, the chaos beast from my dream, could he really exist? The also tell of Ziuya, lover of the White Face God, Y Lassana Mahtab, Empress of the Mahtabhan Empire, Imunath, general of Nevael, Nyurleaps, Overbrain of the Nyurlhotep Hive Mind and Jaios, Senator of the Joimak Culture. Although I can't recount hearing these names or titles before, something in my mind tells me I am familiar with them.
It is finally time to set off again and I think it would be a good idea to head back to the farm I saw last week, but taking a different route. My time in camp has been productive as I've managed to sharpen a few of my skills to aid my survival.
I head west into scrubland and foul odour hits my nostrils. I investigate further I find the corpse of a wolf. I can't tell how long it has been dead and I don't hang around for too long for fear of bumping into whatever killed it. The path soon disappears and I end up fighting my way through the small trees, bushes and scrubs that dominate this terrain, before spying a meadow to the North where the going is easier.
My relief at the easier passage however is soon offset when I young purple skinned Imdaar surprises me and goes about trying to end my life. I've heard the Imdaar are skilled in Magic but this youth's skills are clearly not fully developed and I manage to get two magic missiles off, stopping him dead, before he can even lay a scratch on me. I liberate him of what little gold he carries but also find a fabled object I have only heard of in legend, a teardrop of the gods. It is said these relics can gift the owner a gift, but for now I stow it about my person and head onward.
Finally I arrive back at the farm I passed days ago and this time build up the courage to head up the path a knock on the door. I greeted by a Mahtaban woman who is friendly and invites me inside where I quickly meet her husband. Over fresh bread, cheese and wine we discuss my eventful travels so far and learn that the Mahtaban's are always looking for hired help should I wish to give them a hand in their fields. I also notice a shovel and axe, which I'm sure will come in handy, and the farmer is willing to sell them to be, but at a price I currently can't afford.
Bidding the Mahtaban's a fond farewell I use the opportunity to gather some food of my own, you can never have too much, and succeed once more in increasing my provisions. I stumble once more into scrubland, quickly becoming my least favourite terrain as once more I am set upon, this time by two Tiny Bloodthirsters. Only a week or so one of these insects would have caused my problems but my time in Lagas has already started to harden me and, again, my trusty magic missile puts paid to them with little damage to myself. I'm just about to set off again when yet another Atongo tries to take a bite. Once more I stomp on it but these creatures are quickly becoming an irritant!
I quickly come across a mountain and manage to find a pass through it. The trail however not only snakes around the mountain it is also inhabited by them! A poisonous Kund Snake curls itself into a ball, extends the thorns from its body and begins to roll at speed toward me. I stumble over my incantation but still manage to get a magic missile off, putting an end to the snake before it can puncture my skin with those thorns. I see the little poison sacks upon the dead snake and decide to keep them, who knows when they could come in handy?
I walk a little further along the pass and find a small secluded hollow on the mountain side. It looks like as good a place as any to camp and as I lay slowly falling to sleep again my head begins to fill once more with dreams and visions.
{Out of Character: Just to make everyone aware I actualy recieved a turn 2 before a turn 1, there was a problem with Lagas servers meaning my first orders were processed twice. Once reported the Lagas team quickly rectified and deleted my dummy turns before reprocessing my orders but I've included breif snippets of the deleted turn 2 in the first dreams description. Just a pity I lost all that fame :) }
